Alright, I'm happy to say that LACP 1 was a success! Sure there were a few things that could've been better prepared, but for my first go at organizing these events I have to give myself a pat on the back and say good job! Not only to me, but to my team of admins that helped out, and the team of volunteer photographers! Without them, LACP wouldn't have gone far. So thank you! Also, I would like to give a special thanks to all the cosplayers that participated! We can't have LACP without the cosplayers! You guys made LACP 1 a success, your costumes were amazing and there was absolutely no drama! So I thank you everyone who participated in the event! -Applauds- For those who couldn't make it, I wish you to join us with LACP 2!
Improvements that will be made for LACP 2.
Okay, so right now the biggest issue I learned from LACP 1 is the group really needs to stick together and that includes photographers! I'm sorry, but if anyone (photographer or cosplayer) shows up to the event late I can't hold back the group. LACP was held at The Disney Concert Hall and that was a huge success! Unfortunately though we did have some cosplayers that showed up just as we were ready to change location. That time, I allowed them to stay back with some photographers. I can't allow that anymore. The problem we faced afterwards was we had more cosplayers show up at the second location and we were short on photographers. That has to be fixed. Photographers I'm sorry, but no matter how great their cosplay may be , if they show up late to location and the group is ready to move, then we all have to move. If you register as a photographer then you are registering to the group! If the group is changing location, the photographers need to follow as well.
Next thing, photographers will have 15 minutes with the group of cosplayers before they need to rotate and go with another group of cosplayers. Just to clarify your 15 minutes doesn't actually start until everyone is settled and found a nice comfortable spot. I'm not that mean. So really you guys get like 25 minutes for I do hope it doesn't take you longer than 10 minutes to find a spot. I will be walking around to see that everyone is all settled before I start keeping my eyes on the time. This is so we can assure that each photographer get's pictures of all the cosplayers and that all the cosplayers get a turn with the photographers.
Third, This probably won't happen for LACP 2, but eventually admins and photographers will have walkie talkies so that whenever we get separated we can communicate easily and I can tell everyone to switch once their time is up.
Fourth! I won't show up late this time. That was a big fail on my part and I apologize to everyone for that. I'm supposed to be there early with my fellow admins and photographers for a briefing and so we can get a good feel of the place before the cosplayers arrive. I have to push my admins not to be late as well ha ha....
Thank you for reading! Hope to see you all at LACP 2!
